The House

The house is located in the quiet village of Saunières, just a few metres from the Doubs, which is a favourite with anglers.


The property is accessed via a quiet local road that runs alongside the river.


Unfortunately, the structure of the house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Lovers of traditional craftsmanship, we dreamed of an old house that had preserved its original "cachet" with beautiful materials but also offering the kind of comfort you need to enjoy yourself all year round, and all this in a place that is emblematic of French “savoir-vivre”.


We drove along the river Doubs on a small road, first catching sight of the barn with its half-timbering and roof, emblematic of the Bresse. Then the Maison Saunières came into view. And that was that, we would become the guardians of this heritage. Since 2011, thanks to the previous owners, the house has been a great success to rent, and we're proud to continue sharing this place.


We are a French-Swiss couple, passionate and curious.
